The chip removal rates of workpieces that lose more than 90 percent of their raw part weight during processing place particular demands on Peiseler indexing devices. Peiseler has successfully solved the challenge of reliably sealing the indexing device against coolant and chips. Fulfilling a requirement that is not unique to manufacturing in the aerospace industry, Peiseler implements rough and final machining in a single set-up. Aluminium parts for the cockpit window, Inconel engine components and titanium parts for the undercarriage are just a few of the pieces manufactured using this process. Very high, controllable or very precise clamp pressures are required, and the indexing devices reliably meet and integrate these specifications.
