Rotary tables with worm gear drive

Tables

The ATU rotary tables offer an ideal solution for machining larger workpieces as well as for heavy-duty cutting applications. The rotary tables are available with a vertical or upright rotary axis and a horizontal faceplate. The drive is provided by a backlash-free tensioned worm gear.

As a central bearing concept, we use the YRT design in conjunction with low-torsion, axially acting clamps. To save overall height, the housings of the ATU rotary tables are deliberately kept flat. The cast construction is thick-walled with strong ribs.

On request, we can also project large, free center diameters into the face plates of the rotary indexing tables.

Drive type

Worm gear drives

Peiseler uses three-piece worm gears, a well-known design developed by Ott. These gears consist of a worm wheel and a two-piece worm, the shank worm and hollow worm. During assembly, we adjust the gear so it is backlash-free. Readjusting the worm during its service life is simple with a commercially available mounting tool. The design advantages are a compact gear ratio, high mechanical precision and the control's excellent regulatory quality. Heat limits the duty cycle.

The benefits for you

  • Simple commissioning/easy installation

  • Easily adjustable worm gear

  • Maximum drive moment and low backlash

  • Self-braking (safety feature)

  • Cost-effective solution for positioning applications
